ISLAMABAD, Jul 11 (APP): President Asif Ali Zardari on Friday called for promoting Pakistan’s trade and investment relations with Czech Republic and Ukraine as Pakistan’s ambassadors-designate for both countries called on him here.
The president, in a meeting with Pakistan’s designated Ambassador to Czech Republic Shahryar Akbar Khan, said that the Czech Republic was an important partner for Pakistan in Europe.
He emphasized the need to promote trade, investment, and people-to-people contacts between the two countries, as well as exchanges of parliamentary and cultural delegations.
In his meeting with Pakistan’s Ambassador-designate to Ukraine Major General (R) Kunwar Adnan Ahmed Khan, the president said that Pakistan desired to expand the mutually beneficial cooperation with Ukraine further.
He instructed the designated envoy to play a role in promoting economic, trade, and cultural relations between the two countries.
President Zardari also congratulated Shahryar Akbar Khan and Major General (R) Kunwar Adnan Ahmed Khan on their new responsibilities and extended his best wishes.
