President assures full support to quake affected people of KP, FATA

KHAR Oct 29 (APP): President Mamnoon Hussain Thursday assured full support to earthquake victims of Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA) and said government will continue measures till complete rehabilitation of the affected people. Addressing earthquake victims and tribal elders of Bajaur Agency,the President said people of Khyber Pakthunkhwa, Fata and other affected areas have faced difficult challenges and devastations of deadly earthquake with high spirit and courage, bravery and steadfastness that is commendable.The President said the entire nation, Federal and Provincial Governments and national building institutions stood with earthquake victims in this hour of need and will continue supporting them till their complete rehabilitation, reconstruction of their destroyed houses and restoration of their businesses.The President said floods, earthquakes and other natural
calamities often wreak colossal and irreparable human and financial
losses but united we stand to meet these challenges.Mamnoon Hussasin said grief can be reduced and serious predicaments like devastations of earthquake can be addressed effectively if we come out of homes irrespective of party politics and personal liking and disliking to support our brethrens and sisters in need.Keeping alive the past rich and glorious traditions of our nation, he said people again came out for the help and support of earthquake victims soon after its struck northern Pakistan and took part in rescue and relief operations along with Govt and national building departments.Soon after the powerful tremor, the President said, the concerned authorities, Pakistan Army and Govt institutions like NDMA, PDMA, FDMA rushed for rescue of the victims by mobilizing all their resources and provided maximum relief to the affected. If the government institutions and officials fully realize their national responsibility and work with honesty and professional zeal, the damages of human lives and properties due to natural calamities like earthquake and floods become very limited, the President remarked.Whenever difficult situation comes on nations, they set aside their political differences, personal interests and extend strong hands of friendship and brotherhoods to their affected people, he added.The President appreciated the Prime Minister relief package for earthquake victims and said it was very positive endeavour of the government to help the affected people in reconstruction of their destroyed houses, revival of businesses and fulfilling their financial needs.The good aspect of the compensation package is the quick distribution of cheques in a record four days time to enable the affected people to reconstruct their houses within a shortest possible time, he said.The President said Allah Almighty has bestowed Fata with lot of resources and the time has come to take full advantage of this potential for the benefit of masses.He said the government was according full attention to development of Fata to bring its less developed areas at par with developed parts of the
country.
