ISLAMABAD, Nov 17 (APP):Pakistan Red Crescent Society (PRCS) has organized a two-day partnership meeting in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, aimed at exploring new avenues of collaboration, strengthening institutional capacity, and expanding outreach for more efficient humanitarian services in Pakistan.
The central and strategically accessible location enabled PRCS to bring together a wide range of partners after a gap of nine years.
The meeting sought to foster deeper dialogue, mobilize collective resources, and enhance joint efforts in areas including climate change, health and care, migration and displacement, and other critical humanitarian services across Pakistan, according to a press release issued here on Monday.
In coordination with its provincial branches, PRCS identified several priority areas to strengthen its humanitarian footprint. These included system development to reinforce transparency, accountability, and institutional efficiency; strengthening its auxiliary role through enhanced coordination with government stakeholders; expanding the PRCS youth and volunteer network; increasing membership; and addressing the urgent need for financial sustainability by engaging local partners, diversifying resource mobilization efforts, and building long-term partnerships to support PRCS programmes and emergency response operations nationwide.
The partnership meeting also featured presentations on the PRCS Transformation Plan and Strategic Plan, outlining the organization’s efforts to improve systems and processes for more effective humanitarian service delivery.
Thematic sessions highlighted PRCS initiatives in climate change adaptation, migration and displacement, and health and wellbeing. The second day focused on commitments from partner National Societies, moderated by IFRC Asia Pacific Regional Director Alexander Matheou.
