Under the initiative, 216 families received food packs supported by the Turkish Red Crescent, NorCross-backed hygiene kits and essential household items including buckets, mugs and jerrycans. The distribution also included IFRC-supported insecticide-treated mosquito nets and water bottles to help promote hygiene and prevent disease outbreaks, a PRCS news release said.
The PRCS, in partnership with the IFRC, also extended cash assistance to the most deserving families, providing Rs 22,000 each to 40 pregnant women and Rs 45,000 each as multi-purpose cash grants to 350 families to help them meet their essential needs with dignity.
The distribution ceremony was attended by PRCS Chairperson Mrs Farzhana Naek and Secretary General Muhammad Abaidullah Khan, PRCS Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chairperson Farzand Ali Wazir, IFRC Head of Delegation in Pakistan Farid Abdulqadir and TRCS Head of Delegation Ms Beyza Taner, along with staff, volunteers and Movement partners.

During her visit, Mrs Naek also toured the PRCS Swat Branch with Mr Wazir and delegations from IFRC, TRCS and NorCross.
