PRBC advances Pakistan-Romania friendship monument in Karachi

ISLAMABAD, Feb 15 (APP): The Pakistan Romania Business Council (PRBC) announced significant progress on the construction of the Pakistan-Romania Friendship Monument in Karachi, a landmark initiative to commemorate 61 years of diplomatic relations between the two nations.

In a recent meeting, Atif Farooqi, Advisor & Chief Operating Officer of Pakistan Romania Business Council, and Chairman PRBC Sohail Shamim Firpo called on Commissioner Karachi Syed Hasan Naqvi to present detailed drawings of the monument.

The trio reviewed the proposed design and planned to visit the approved site, marking a key step toward groundbreaking and construction. This follows the original dialogue finalized in November 2025 between Commissioner Karachi Naqvi and Romanian Ambassador Dr. Dan Stoenescu, aimed at deepening ties in culture, education, business, and local governance.

The Friendship Monument, supervised by PRBC for construction and upkeep, will stand as an enduring symbol of bilateral partnership and mutual respect.

Atif Farooqi said, “Progress on drawings and site approval positions PRBC for swift implementation, fostering trade, cultural exchanges, and urban collaborations between Pakistan and Romania. With Commissioner Karachi Mr. Naqvi’s support, we’re poised to create a lasting tribute to Pakistan-Romania friendship.”

Commissioner Naqvi expressed enthusiasm for the project, reaffirming Karachi’s role in strengthening these vital ties.
