PPRA, HBL sign cash management agreement to advance Pakistan’s cashless economy

ISLAMABAD, Nov 3 (APP):The Public Procurement Regulatory Authority (PPRA) has made significant progress in its digital transformation efforts to align with the national vision for a modern cashless digital economy by entering into a “Cash Management Agreement” with Habib Bank Limited (HBL) here on Monday.
This agreement aims to facilitate the digitization of receipts through HBL Mobile Banking and 1BILL/1LINK platforms among PPRA, procuring agencies, bidders, and all other relevant stakeholders involved in the public procurement process, said a press release.
Ali Asghar Bhutto, Director (Finance) and Ateeq Haider Baig, Director (IT), signed the agreement on behalf of the PPRA, and Farwa Malik, Umer Malik, and Muhammad Irfan represented the HBL at the ceremony.
PPRA’s Managing Director, Hasnat Ahmed Qureshi, and other officials witnessed the signing ceremony. MD PPRA underscored the authority’s commitment to advancing the digitization process through electronic payments and receipts, thus supporting the Prime Minister’s vision of a cashless economy.
He emphasized that technical teams should complete the necessary development processes promptly and launch the electronic portal for the collection of electronic fees that will be fully integrated with EPADS.
