PPP, PML-N lawmakers term budget 2026-27 pro-people

ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP):Members of the National Assembly, Jamal Raisani of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Shaista Pervaiz Malik of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), on Friday described the Federal Budget 2026-27 as pro-people, saying the government had presented the budget under challenging economic conditions and still managed to provide relief to people.
Talking to PTV news, PML-N lawmaker Dr. Shaista Pervaiz Malik said the government had prioritized public welfare in the Federal Budget 2026-27, adding that after economic stability under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, maximum possible relief had been extended to the public within available fiscal space.
She said key economic indicators had improved over the past year, enabling the government to focus on easing the financial burden on citizens, particularly salaried individuals and vulnerable segments of society, while maintaining fiscal discipline.
She further stated that the budget reflected a balanced approach between development priorities and public relief, expressing confidence that the measures would help strengthen economic stability and improve living standards.
PPP Member of the National Assembly Jamal Raisani said that in the prevailing economic conditions, any relief provided in the Federal Budget 2026-27 was a welcome development and should be considered significant. He added that lawmakers had collectively made efforts to ensure relief for the public while taking care of farmers, the poor, and other vulnerable segments of society.
He said special attention had been given to addressing the concerns of farmers and low-income groups, noting that measures in the budget were aimed at easing their financial burden. He emphasized that protecting the interests of these segments remained a key priority.
Jamal Raisani said that the budget adopted a multi-sectoral approach, focusing on youth, agriculture and social welfare, and reflected an effort to balance economic constraints with public needs.
