ISLAMABAD, Aug 15 (APP): President of Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP) Abdul Aleem Khan while expressing support for the creation of Hazara Province in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, has said that the people across the country want new provinces to be created on administrative grounds.
He said that voices for the creation of Hazara Province have been raised in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly since 2010 and it is encouraging that major political parties support the establishment of Hazara Province, said a press release issued on Saturday.
He said that IPP stands firmly with the demand for Hazara Province in order to ensure the resolution of people’s problems. He said that the creation of South Punjab and Bahawalpur provinces is also extremely important and the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party will extend its full support to these demands.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that voices are also being raised for the creation of new provinces in Punjab and Sindh, as the rapid increase in population has made the creation of additional provinces an urgent need of the time.
IPP President said that the creation of new provinces can help to resolve public issues and improve administrative efficiency.
He stressed that this is a national issue and the creation of new provinces should not be sacrificed to political expediency or partisan interests.
He said there would be no harm in dividing each of the four provinces into more four administrative units.
He added that the present circumstances demand a new working order across the country and we must move forward in accordance with the requirements of the modern era, keeping the current situation in view.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party would continue to raise its voice for the creation of new provinces at every forum.
He said politicians should fulfill their responsibilities and take ownership of the issue of new provinces.
The IPP President stressed that instead of protecting political fiefdoms, politicians must focus on resolving the problems being faced by the people.
Abdul Aleem Khan said the creation of new provinces is not an issue concerning any particular political party or region; rather, it is a matter of public convenience, better governance and the national interest.
He urged that the issue should be considered seriously, rising above political affiliations.
