Political Parties' proposals on new process of Senate Elections received: Zahid Hamid

ISLAMABAD, Aug 2 (APP): Federal Minister for Law and Chairman of the Sub-Committee of Parliament on Electoral Reforms Zahid Hamid Tuesday said that the committee had received the recommendations of all parliamentary political parties on the process of Senate Elections.

After the meeting, talking to media persons, he said that they would forward recommendations of the sub-committee on Senate Elections to the Electoral Reforms Committee for further action.

Answering to a question, he said that the Election Commission would conduct the practical examinations of the Electronic Voting Machines and Biometrics Machines in the next week.

He said that six companies had participated in the bid for
provision of Electronic Voting Machines and five for Biometrics Machines.

The Minister said that ECP had completed technical work of the Machines.

Chairman National Database and Registration Authority could
not attend today’s meeting, he added.
