ISLAMABAD, Mar 05 (APP):Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police launched a major crackdown against drug dealers under the “Nasha Ab Nahi” campaign, arresting eight drug peddlers including four involved in supplying narcotics near educational institutions.
An official told APP on Thursday that the Shalimar police team conducted a targeted operation against drug dealers operating around educational institutions and apprehended four accused involved in narcotics supply to students.
He said during the broader crackdown, police arrested a total of eight drug peddlers and recovered a large quantity of “ice” (crystal meth) from their possession.
DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq said large-scale operations are underway against networks involved in drug trafficking and those attempting to destroy the future of the youth.
He said facilitators supporting drug peddlers would also be arrested soon as part of the ongoing crackdown.
The DIG Tariq urged citizens to immediately inform police about any suspicious activity so that timely action can be taken.
He reiterated that Islamabad Police remain fully committed to protecting the younger generation from the menace of narcotics.
