PM's visit to further strengthen Pak-China ties: Dr Firdous

SIALKOT, April 28 (APP)::Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday said the recent visit of Prime Minister Imran Khan to China would further strengthen relations between the two countries.

Addressing a public meeting here, she said laying of 1800-km long railway track would not only bring prosperity in Pakistan but also help enhance exports between the two countries.

She said Prime Minister Imran Khan was struggling for betterment of the country and people should extend full support to him.

The special assistant asked the opposition to focus on tracing their missing ‘opposition leader’, who had escaped from the country for stashing the looted wealth abroad. Unfortunately, the past rulers used politics as a tool of business and indulged in massive corruption, she added.

Firdous said front-men of some political parties were trying to mislead people for their vested interests, but people had become politically conscious and they knew negative politics of the opposition parties.

Later, talking to media in Sialkot, Dr Firdous said ruled out any decrease in popularity of the PTI government, saying every Pakistani was working as a player of Imran Khan against corruption and the corrupt politicians.

She said the PTI government would complete its agenda of eliminating corruption, and purging the country of corrupt politicians by recovering every single penny of the plundered national wealth.

The special assistant said the government was successfully implementing its agenda of economic stability and development besides making hectic efforts to bring about a balance in Pakistan’s imports and exporters.

Replying to a question, she said Prime Minister Imran Khan was effectively presenting the case of 220 million people of Pakistan before the international community during his China visit.

She said Gwadar would soon emerge as one of the most important ports of the world and an international economic hub.

She said the Free Trade Agreement (FTA) signed between Pakistan and China would further accelerate the pace of economic development in the country.

Dr Firdous said China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project had special significance in the world, adding the Phase-II of the mega project would also support the cottage industry of Pakistan.

Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan said the Pakistani nation fully supports Prime Minister Imran Khan.
