ISLAMABAD, Sept 30 (APP): Prime Minister’s special envoys Friday briefed Chinese scholars, academia and representatives of various think tanks in Biejing on atrocities being committed by the Indian forces in the occupied Kashmir and urged them to highlight this issue of human rights violations at all avaialabe forums.
Prime Minister’s special envoys MNAs Mukhdoom Khusru Bakhtiyar and Alam Dad Laleka currently are on a visit to China to highlight the ongoing human rights violations being committed in Indian occupied Kashmir (IoK), The envoys gave a detailed account of the deteriorating situation in IoK and the atrocities perpetrated by the Indian occupation forces against the innocent civilians including women, children and men, a press release received here from Beijing said.
The envoys highlighted that life of the people of Kashmir had been hampered due to continuous curfew in the valley and people were unable to meet daily life requirements.
“Kashmir is an internationally recognized dispute as per UNSC Resolutions. As recognized by the UN, Pakistan is a party to the dispute and is obliged to highlight the just struggle of the Kashmiri people,” they said.
The envoys informed the participants that how earnestly Pakistan had tried to resolve all issues with India including the Kashmir dispute through a structured dialogue process, but “India has rejected all offers of dialogue.”
Therefore, they said, Pakistan was constrained to approach the international community to highlight Indian suppression of an indigenous struggle of the Kashmiri people.
The special envoys also called upon the international community to play a pro-active role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions.
Chinese intellectuals and scholars attending the event showed complete understanding of Pakistan’s position and shared their views on the regional situation including on the Kashmir dispute.
They emphasized the need for dialogue and engagement between Pakistan and India to address this outstanding dispute, which posed a potential threat to peace and stability of the region.
