ISLAMABAD, Jun 28 (APP): Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Dr Asif Kirmani on Tuesday said Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) would win Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) general election with thumping majority and ensure good governance and a corruption-free government.

After wining elections in AJK, PML-N government would bring a revolution in all sectors of the region including infrastructure, health, education and tourism, as envisioned by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, he said talking to the PTV.

Incumbent Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government in AJK had
failed to deliver and there is sense of deprivation among people. Our government will ensure uplift of masses and end their deprivation, he added.

He said the federal government had released funds worth billions of rupees to AJK government but no development work was done
by the corrupt and incompetent government.

“Hospitals in AJK lack medicines and proper health facilities while schools are without proper infrastructure and buildings without roofs. This situation speaks volumes of the incapability of the PPP government,” he said.

He said road infrastructure in AJK is also in dilapidated condition as the incumbent government had not paid any attention towards it.

It is part of PML-N agenda to make AJK a tourist resort with best facilities to attract local as well as foreign tourists as the area carry huge potential in this sector, he added.

Asif Kirmani said when we pointed out to AJK government’s corruption, embezzlement and incapability, it started alleging PML-N of interference in its affairs.

“If we had been fond of power, we could have established our government in AJK by dethroning the present government through vote of no confidence,” he added.

“We also had a chance to form our governments in KPK and Balochistan after general elections 2013 but Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif gave chances to other parties.

He said the opportunist who always followed politics of power, would be rejected by the people of AJK on July 21.

PML-N would contest elections in AJK and Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Party would be its ally while in some constituencies there would be seat adjustment with Jamat-i-Islami (JI), he said.

To question, he said workers of PML-N had given their opinion against any alliance with Muslim Conference (MC) as they think the party had not delivered when it was in power.

He said response of AJK people to PML-N is overwhelming as manifested during the public meetings. They are looking for a
real change in upcoming general election and PML-N is in strong
position for this change.

PML-N has promised to provide air-ambulances to AJK people to help
travel the patients for immediate medical facilities, he added.

He said it is also included in our agenda to construct state of the art hospitals equipped with latest facilities at every district in AJK.

Kirmani alleged that Prime Minister AJK Abdul Majeed was influencing administration including Police and local officials to win elections which was unlawful.

He asked the local administration to remain impartial during the elections and perform their duties with neutrality as state’s employees.

We are in favour, if general election is held under supervision of Pakistan Army to impartiality and transparency, he said.

He also asked Chief Election Commissioner, IG and other officials of AJK to take steps for peaceful environment during elections. PML-N fully supports freedom struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self determination.

He said Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has raised Kashmir issue on all international fora.
