ISLAMABAD, Dec 27 (APP): Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Senator Pervaiz Rashid Sunday said that Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz has evolved consensus against terrorism and united all political parties to root out this menace from the country.
Talking to a private news channel he said, National Action Plan (NAP) was an appreciable step. Chief Minister Sindh Qaim Ali Shah had recently accepted that 70 to 80 percent success against terrorism was made possible due to NAP.
International community was also supportive of the NAP, he added.
Former president Asif Ali Zardari and Pervez Musharraf had failed to formulate NAP, he said adding, credit goes to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) for formulating it.
Pervaiz Rashid said the parliamentary system was working in the country to monitor NAP and government’s performance.
He said, if Bilawal Bhutto Zardari knew the name of any supporter of ‘Daesh’ present in Islamabad, he should tell his name.
Responding to a question he said, it had still not been proved that who had resorted to killings in Model Town Lahore.
He said the PML-N was given the responsibility to form a government for the third time and added bloodshed was not its culture.
He said NAP had restored peace in Karachi. The menace of terrorism started in the country in the year 2000 during the tenure of Pervez Musharraf, he said.
He said Pervez Musharraf regime should have made the National Action Plan (NAP) at that time to cope with the threat of terrorism.
He said Pakistan Peoples Party’s government did not pay heed to devising any plan to eliminating terrorism. Whereas PML-N immediately after taking over the reins of the government started efforts for strengthening economy, and eradicating terrorism.
He said now the terrorists were being caught and punished.
The International community was also supporting NAP, he added. Information Minister said, some people of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) had certain personal grief and pains, which they expressed on the death anniversary of Benazir Bhutto.
