PML-N to bring its candidate for Senate chairman slot: Tariq

ISLAMABAD, Mar 9 (APP):Minister of State for Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Dr. Tariq Fazal Chaudhry Friday said Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) would bring its own candidate for the slot of senate chairman with the support of its allies.
PML-N had gained majority in the upper house and also had support of its allies so it was in a strong position to make the chairman of its party, he said talking to a private news channel.
He said the PML-N had never been involved in horse trading in senate elections in the country.
Politics of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was based on immaturity and there was no consistency in their decisions, Tariq Fazal said.
He said the PML-N had announced its unconditional support if Mian Raza Rabbani was candidate for the position of senate chairman like it did in his previous term.
Tariq Fazal said Raza Rabbani had run the affairs of the senate in a disciplined manner and he
increased respect and honour of the senate during his tenure.
He applauded the services of Raza Rabbani as chairman senate saying he was uncontroversial during his last tenure.
To a question, he said it was the collective responsibility of all the political parties to play role for strengthening the system in the country.
