KARACHI, Apr 14 (APP):Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President Shahbaz Sharif Saturday said his party would actively participate in the upcoming general election in the Sindh province.
He would soon carry out a tour of the province for the purpose, he said talking to senior journalists here at the Governor House. Sindh Governor Muhammad Zubair and senators Mushahid Hussain Syed, Mushahidullah Khan and Saleem Zia were also
present on the occasion.
Shehbaz Sharif made it clear that all the development work in Punjab was carried through its own resources and its share in the National Finance Commission (NFC) award.
Sindh, he said, also had its NFC share and other resources, but despite that no development could be witnessed in the province.
He said Punjab gave funds to other provinces from its NFC share.
Lauding the services of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, he said the federal government took keen interest in development
projects in the Sindh province, as it contributed to Green Line Mass Transit scheme, bulk water supply K-IV project, Lyari Expressway,
Karach-Hyderabad Motorway, Thar Coal Power Plant and Port Qasim Power Plant.
He said the restoration of peace in Karachi was the result of practical steps taken by the PML-N government. The law and order situation in the metropolis had improved, he added.
Shahbaz Sharif said if the PML-N elected to power in the upcoming general election, its government would pay special attention towards the development of Sindh and measures would be taken for infrastructure development, public transport, solid waste management and other public welfare projects.
Answering a question, the PML-N president said there was no grouping in his party.
