PM welcomes Moody’s stable outlook for Pakistan’s banking sector

ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday expressed satisfaction over Moody’s decision to assign a stable outlook to Pakistan’s banking sector, and termed it a positive reflection of the country’s improving economic fundamentals and prudent policy direction.
The prime minister lauded the efforts of the government’s economic team, saying their day-and-night hard work had played a crucial role in steering the economy towards stability and growth. He said international institutions’ reports and ratings served as clear evidence that Pakistan’s economic trajectory was moving in the right direction, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.
“Pakistan’s economy is now on the path of stability and progress,” the prime minister said, adding that recent assessments by global rating agencies underscored growing confidence in the country’s financial and economic management.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the collective efforts of the economic managers in ensuring macroeconomic stability, strengthening the financial sector and restoring investor confidence. He said the acknowledgment by Moody’s was a testament to sound economic policies and sustained reforms undertaken by the government.
Expressing optimism about the future, the prime minister said that, by the grace of Almighty Allah, the dream of Pakistan’s development was steadily turning into reality, and the government remained committed to maintaining economic discipline and accelerating growth for the benefit of the people.
