TURBAT, Dec 14 ( APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on
Wednesday inaugurated the upgradation, widening and strengthening of 448 kilometre-long Sorab-Hoshab Road (N-85), an important part of
the Western Corridor of China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Governor Balochistan Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister
Sanaullah Zehri, Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal
and Director General Frontier Works Organization were also present.

The road will link Gwadar Port with National Highway network
(N-25) near Sorab/Quetta.

The project contractor – Frontier Works Organization (FWO) has
completed 16 bridges and 1,502 culverts at N-85, with a cost of Rs.
22,028 million approximately.

The road will provide shortest link from Gwadar Port to Afghanistan and other Central Asian countries  With the completion of this project, the vital North-South road connectivity has also been completed.
