PM Shehbaz leaves New York for London after leading Pakistan delegation to UNGA
UNITED NATIONS, Sep 26 (APP):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif flew to London Friday night on his way back to Islamabad after leading Pakistan’s delegation to the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
During his hectic five-day visit to New York, PM Shehbaz, besides addressing the 193-member Assembly, interacted with the world leaders gathered here on issues of regional and global security and matters of bilateral interests.
He also met Pakistani-American businessmen and urged them to invest in their homeland.
The prime minister conferred with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, who is expected to visit Pakistan next month. Guterres completes his second 5-year term on 31 December 2026.
In his address to the General Assembly, PM Shehbaz advocated that while dialogue and diplomacy must remain the path to resolving conflicts, he gave a stern warning to India that any attempt to stop, impede or divert Pakistan’s share of river waters would be treated as an act of war.
The prime minister will depart from London to Islamabad after spending a few days.
