PM Shehbaz condemns firing on police personnel guarding anti-polio team in Mohmand

ISLAMABAD, Nov 03 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Tuesday strongly condemned the firing on police personnel deployed to protect an anti-polio team in Mohmand district.

The prime minister paid tribute to those martyred in the incident, prayed for the elevation of their ranks and expressed his condolences to the bereaved families, a Prime Minister’s Office news release said.

He said anti-polio workers, along with the police and security personnel assigned to protect them, were performing a national duty and playing their part in securing a safe future for the nation.

“Such terrorist attacks are deeply regrettable and worthy of condemnation,” the prime minister said.

He reaffirmed the government’s resolve to eradicate terrorism from the country in all its forms.
