PM meets JETRO’s CEO in Davos

ISLAMABAD, Jan 24 (APP):Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi Wednesday emphasized that Pakistan’s goal was to engage with all Asian countries in its economic activity and Japan was among its top partners.
The prime minister said this during his meeting with Ishige Hiroyuki, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO) at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland.
Special Assistant to the Prime Minister Ali Jehangir Siddiqui, Member of the National Assembly Ms Shiza Fatima and senior government officials were also present, according to a press release received here from Davos.
The prime minister appreciated JETRO’s consistent support to Pakistan for trade and investment. He apprised the JETRO ‘s CEO that in the last few years Pakistan had made tremendous achievements towards political stability, improved law and order situation, energy security, and economic growth that had been acknowledged by renowned international rating agencies.
The JETRO’s CEO acknowledged Pakistan’s economic growth and expressed the hope for continued cooperation in various sectors of the economy.
JETRO is a leading investment match-maker in Japan in the public sector and has 73 overseas offices with extensive research network. The 2017 JETRO Report puts Pakistan at number one in terms of business growth expectations, profitability and local employment.
