ISLAMABAD, June 19 (APP): Federal Minister for Information and
Broadcasting, National Heritage, Senator Pervaiz Rashid Sunday said
he met with Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and found him more energetic as compared before.
Talking to a private TV channel from London, the minister said
that he consulted the Prime Minister over the appointment of members
of the Election Commission of Pakistan and upcoming general elections
in Azad Jammu Kashmir (AJK).
The minister said according to the Constitution, appointment
of members of ECP could be finalized with the mutual consultation of
Leader of the House and Leader of the Opposition.
He said that he was tasked by the Parliament as the chairman
of the consultative committee constituted for the appointment of
ECP members.
