PM looks forward to stronger Pakistan-Iran ties

ISLAMABAD, Dec 9 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif on Wednesday said Iran and Pakistan have historical relationship and the bonds between the two countries would further strengthen in the days ahead.
He was talking to Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif who is here in Pakistan to participate in the fifth Heart of Asia ministerial conference.The Iranian Foreign Minister complimented Pakistan on hosting the Heart of Asia conference and said it would help bring peace and stability to the region.

“We are determined to work with Afghanistan and Pakistan to eliminate extremism and terrorism from the region,” he said.The Iranian Foreign Minister expressed the hope that remaining obstacles between Pakistan and Iran economic cooperation would be removed after removal of sanctions.

“We are sure that impediments were also over on the Iran Pakistan gas pipe line project,” he said. The Iranian Foreign Minister said President Hassan Rouhani will soon visit Pakistan on the invitation of the Prime Minister.
