ISLAMABAD, Dec 4 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Thursday held a bilateral meeting with Kyrgyz President Sadyr Nurgozhoevich Zhaparov here wherein they discussed the ways to enhance mutual cooperation in trade, energy, communications, and various other sectors.
At the invitation of Prime Minister Shehbaz, President Zhaparov is on a two-day maiden state visit to Pakistan β the first by a Kyrgyz head of state in two decades.
During the meeting, the prime minister said that the visit of the Kyrgyz head of state to Pakistan after 20 years was extremely welcome.
He viewed that the visit of President Zhaparov would prove highly beneficial in further promoting cooperation between Pakistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The Kyrgyz leader thanked the prime minister for the warm welcome and expressed his desire to further increase cooperation with Pakistan in various fields and explore new avenues of mutual collaboration.
Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, National Security Advisor Lieutenant General Asim Malik, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi were also present in the meeting.
