ISLAMABAD, Aug 9 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Tuesday called for seamless coordination between law enforcement agencies, provincial and the federal government to achieve optimum results against extremism and terrorism.

He was chairing a meeting to review the internal security situation and review the implementation of National Action Plan here at the PM house.

The meeting discussed at length the internal security situation of the country and different aspects of the National Action Plan, a statement from the PM House said.

Minster for Interior Ch, Nisar and National security Advisor Lt Gen (Retd.) Nasir Khan Janjua briefed the Prime Minister on how the terrorist organizations were attacking soft targets.

The meeting observed that after achieving successful results from operation Zarb e Azb in FATA, terrorists have now shifted their targets from State institutions, merely out of
desperation.

The Prime Minister said “we are in a state of war with an ideology that wants to change our way of life.”

He said the government was committed to take all necessary steps to ensure that blood spilled in Quetta carnage did not go waste.

He emphasized seamless coordination between law enforcement agencies as well as among the provincial governments and the federal government to achieve optimum results within a short period of time.

The Prime Minister expressed his resolve to make Pakistan secure from terrorism and extremism.

He said the country had embarked upon the right track and would enable every citizen to reap the benefits of a secure, stable and prosperous Pakistan.

The Prime Minister said terrorists believed they could sow seeds of disharmony and  disunity in the nation.

“The nation is united and supports the government to stay on the course of completely eliminating terrorists from Pakistani society,” he said.

The Prime Minister decided to call for a broader meeting tomorrow for detailed discussions on NAP.

The meeting was also attended by Minister for Finance Ishaq Dar, Sartaj Aziz and Tariq Fatemi and other senior government officials.
