PM firm on giving country’s women secure, enabling environment

ISLAMABAD, Mar 8 (APP):Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday expressed his government’s commitment to ensuring women in the country, a secure and enabling environment in order to play their rightful role in nation’s development.
In his message on International Women’s Day, the Prime Minister paid tribute to Ms Fatima Jinnah – the sister of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, who, he said “stood steadfastly beside the Quaid in his struggle for Pakistan”.
The Prime Minister also posted a picture of the Quaid and Ms Fatima Jinnah, standing side by side with excerpts of the former’s address at Jinnah Islamia College for Women, Lahore on March 25, 1940.
The excerpt reads as “No struggle can ever succeed without women ever participating side by side with men. There are two powers in the world. One is represented by the sword and the other by the pen. There is a great competition and rivalry between the two. There is a third power stronger than both. That is the woman.”
