PM expresses gratitude to friendly countries for support in ceasefire efforts, urges lasting peace

ISLAMABAD, Apr 8 (APP): Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Wednesday expressed profound gratitude to several friendly countries for their vital role in supporting ceasefire efforts and promoting peace as the Islamabad Talks move forward.
“As we proceed to *Islamabad Talks*, I wish to extend our deepest and sincere gratitude to our brotherly countries People’s Republic of China, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Republic of Türkiye, Arab Republic of Egypt and State of Qatar for extending invaluable and all out support towards reaching the ceasefire and giving peaceful diplomatic efforts a chance to seek a comprehensive and conclusive end to the conflict,” the prime minister wrote on his ‘X’ timeline.
The prime minister also acknowledged the continued backing of the Gulf Cooperation Council, appreciating its consistent commitment to peace and regional stability, which he termed essential for ongoing diplomatic initiatives.
Highlighting broader international engagement, PM Shehbaz Sharif lauded the leadership of the brotherly countries and the United States of America, for demonstrating “exceptional strategic foresight, sagacity and patience” in supporting peace efforts.
He also thanked the global partners and allies who recognized Pakistan’s sincere efforts toward promoting peace at both regional and international levels.
“Let us all work together to forge a lasting peace in the region and beyond!”, the prime minister remarked.
