ISLAMABAD, Dec 8 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif directed Finance Minister Ishaq Dar on Tuesday to ensure that no employee of PIA was laid off, after turning the organisation into a Company.
The Finance Minister briefed the Prime Minister on the new Ordinance on the Pakistan International Airlines, a statement from the PM House said. The Prime Minister was informed about the salient features of the new PIA company law partnership, that includes job protection of all employees of PIA. He was informed that it would also insulate PIA from bureaucratic control and it would run as an autonomous corporate model like OGDCL.

Finance Minister also apprised the Prime Minister that the government was totally focussed on rehabilitation of Temporarily Displaced Persons who have given sacrifices after successful launch of operation Zarb-e-Azb.

The Prime Minister directed that all resources be made available for prompt and honourable rehabilitation of TDPs. The Finance Minister informed the Prime Minister that out of the Rs 40
billion revenue proposed to be generated through regulatory duty on luxury items , Rs. 27 Billion shall be allocated to Provinces.
