ISLAMABAD, July 12 (APP): Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif has convened a special Cabinet meeting on Friday at Governor House, Lahore, to discuss the rapidly deteriorating situation in the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK).

The Cabinet will discuss the oppressive actions of Indian security forces against innocent civilians and the overall situation in Kashmir after brutal assassination of Burhan Wani, a statement issued by PM’s Media Office here on Tuesday said.

Earlier, on the directions of the Prime Minister, the Foreign Office called Indian High Commissioner to the Foreign Office and conveyed strong concerns of Pakistani government and people on rapidly deteriorating human rights situation in Kashmir and increasing oppression by Indian security forces.

In addition, a detailed briefing was also given to the ambassadors of all permanent members of the UN Security Council regarding the atrocities of Indian security forces in Kashmir.

The Prime Minister will take the Cabinet into confidence on these measures and also chalk out future course of action on that issue.
