PM congratulates nation on Moody’s upgrading of Pakistan’s credit rating
ISLAMABAD, Aug 24 (APP):Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Monday congratulated the nation on Moody’s upgrading of Pakistan’s credit rating from Caa1 to B3.
In a statement, he welcomed the improvement in Pakistan’s sovereign credit rating by Moody’s.
He appreciated efforts of the government’s economic team.
He commended Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Army Chief and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb and all the concerned ministers and officials.
“The improvement in Pakistan’s credit rating is a reflection of global confidence in the government’s economic policies and reforms,” he said adding, “The recognition of the improvement in Pakistan’s economic situation by international financial institutions and rating agencies is welcome. Pakistan’s economy is moving towards stability and the improvement in the rating by international institutions is clear evidence of this.”
He said, “The government has taken effective steps to stabilize the economy.”
“As a result of the government’s continuous efforts and reforms for economic stability, international institutions’ confidence in Pakistan is increasing. The government will further accelerate the process of reforms to build Pakistan’s economy on sustainable foundations,” he remarked.
He said, “Our goal is to make Pakistan’s economy strong, self-sufficient and sustainable.”
