ISLAMABAD, Feb 14 (APP):State Minister for Capital Administration and Development Division, Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary on Wednesday informed the Senate that the Planning Commission has approved to set up a separate psychiatrist department in Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) with an estimated cost of Rs7 billion.
Responding to a Calling Attention Notice by Tahir Hussain Mashhadi regarding non-availability of even a single child psychiatrist in the hospitals in Islamabad, the minister admitted that currently no child psychiatrist was deputed in the government
hospitals.
The minister, however added that psychiatrists were available in four hospitals except National Institute of Rehabilitative (NIRM) Islamabad. He said a separate post has also been created in the PIMS.
In response of another calling attention notice, Tariq Fazal said the expelled girl student of a private educational institution has already been restored in February.
He said the girl was expelled in January on charges of misbehavior and misconduct. However, he said the incident was amicably resolved through mutual consensus.
Earlier, Karim Ahmed Khawaja said Private Educational Institutions Regulatory Authority (PIERA) has failed to control behavior of private educational institutions’ administration in the Capital.
He said that a 10 years old girl student was detained in a dark room for two hours and later on expelled from the school.
