ISLAMABAD July 16 (APP):Following direction by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif PIA will operate a ferry flight to Istanbul at the earliest to evacuate the Pakistanis
stranded in the Turkish Capital city.

In a statement issued on Saturday, Chairman PIA said that the airline has approached the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for obtaining necessary approvals and permissions, for operation of special flight.

The Chairman said that a Boeing-777 aircraft would be sent to Istanbul as soon as the formalities are completed.

PIA does not fly to Turkey and has a code sharing arrangement with Turkish Airways under which passengers holding PIA tickets travel on Turkish Airways flights.
