PIA to dedicate aircraft for PM’s return

PIA assures public of uninterrupted operations despite salary payment concerns

ISLAMABAD, July 8 (APP): Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) on Friday stated that an airliner has been dedicated for the return of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif from London.

With reference to media reports regarding a PIA aircraft being deputed for Prime Minister’s return to Pakistan, a PIA Spokesperson clarified that “due to Prime Minister’s health issues, PM Office had partly been shifted to London, where a Camp Office had been set up.

“Now that the Prime Minister has recovered after surgery and is allowed to travel, the whole Camp Office has to be shifted back to Pakistan.

“On PIA’s regular flights so many seats were not available due to which the only option was to dedicate an aircraft”, he added.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson said there would not be any
significant delay in other flights due to the PM’s special flight, as alternate arrangements had been made by PIA.

Referring to media reports about the flight’s financial impact on PIA, the airline’s spokesperson has clarified that the figures are “totally baseless and grossly exaggerated”.
