PIA Repeal Ordinance 2026 laid in NA

The Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (Conversion) (Repeal) Ordinance, 2026 was laid in the National Assembly on Friday, as required under Clause (2) of Article 89 of the Constitution.

ISLAMABAD, May 15 (APP): The Pakistan International Airlines Corporation (Conversion) (Repeal) Ordinance, 2026 was laid in the National Assembly on Friday, as required under Clause (2) of Article 89 of the Constitution.
The Ordinance had already been laid in the Senate on May 12, 2026.
Separately, a bill to regulate the insurance sector was also introduced in the House. The proposed legislation aims to ensure the protection of policyholders’ interests, promote the sound development of the insurance industry, and address related and incidental matters.
Report of the Standing Committee on Finance and Revenue was also presented on the Bill, further to amend the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) Ordinance, 2001 (XLVI of 2001), the Financial Institutions (Recovery of Finances) (Amendment) Bill, 2026.
In addition, the Annual Report of the National Economic Council (NEC) for the financial year 2023–24 was presented in the National Assembly, as required under Clause (5) of Article 156 of the Constitution.
