MULTAN, Sep 21 (APP):The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) continued its crackdown on the sale of unsafe and substandard meat, destroying two maunds of foul-smelling and unfit meat during an inspection of a meat shop at Adda Pull 114 in Jahania.
According to the PFA, the action was carried out by a food safety team on the directions of Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmed. During the inspection, the team found a substantial quantity of meat in a decomposed and unhygienic condition.
The meat was declared unfit for human consumption and hazardous to public health. The food safety team destroyed the contaminated meat on the spot and got lodged an FIR against the accused.
PFA Director General Raja Mansoor Ahmed said that food safety teams were conducting continuous operations against elements involved in activities harmful to public health.
