Pervaiz hands over Rs 10 mln cheque to Amjad Sabri’s family

KARACHI, Oct 24 (APP): Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting
and National Heritage, Pervaiz Rashid on Monday visited the residence of slain Qawwal Amjad Sabri and handed over a cheque of Rs 10 million to the family of the deceased on behalf of the Prime Minister.

The amount was announced by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif for the family of the famous Qawwal, who was gunned down in Karachi on June 22 this year.

Pervaiz Rashid said the grant of Rs 10 million was announced by the Prime Minister for the family of the slain Qawwal to help meet the academic expenses of his children.

He said the money could not compensate for the precious human life
but would provide resources for the completion of the education of
Sabri’s children so that they could not face any difficulty in acquiring further education.

To a question regarding the arrest of Sabri’s killers, the minister said investigation in the case was continuing and hoped that the killers would be brought to justice.

Pervaiz Rashid said various killers involved in some major incidents
had been arrested in Karachi and the killers of Amjad Sabri would also
be nabbed.
