Performance arranged to mark 67th China Founding anniversary

ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (APP): A special cultural performance was arranged here at Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA) to celebrate the 67th anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China on Wednesday evening.

Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage
Pervaiz Rashid was the chief guest on the occasion. Advisor to the Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddique was guest of honour on the occasion.

Ambassador of People’s Republic of China Sun Wei Dong, Director General PNCA Jamal Shah was also present on the occasion.

The event was organized by China Cultural Center in Pakistan in collaboration with Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA).

In his opening remarks, Advisor to the Prime Minister Irfan
Siddiqui said that today is the 67th anniversary of the founding of People’s Republic of China and I would like to take this opportunity on behalf of the Government of Pakistan and its people, to congratulate the government and people of China on this auspicious day.

He said that Pakistan and China enjoy exemplary ties of
friendship, which have not only sustained changes of governments in both countries but also ups and downs in the regional and global situation.

He said that our friendly relations have also expanded and
gained strength over the past so many years, adding our enduring friendship has emerged as an important factor in peace and stability in the region as well as at the global level.

Advisor to Prime Minister said that Pakistan China relations
cover the entire spectrum of national activity, adding that China has been a generous and reliable partner in our national development efforts.

Irfan Siddique said that Pakistan China friendship has further
been strengthened by cultural interaction over centuries through history and people to people exchanges. He said that the government greatly regard the historical ties and close friendship between the two countries and their peoples, as exchanges between both countries at all level are an indication of commitment to strengthening their long standing ties.

Ambassador of China to Pakistan Sun Wei Dong in his welcome address said that Pakistan and China are all weather and time test friends, adding that throughout the history Pakistan and China trust and support each other. He said that the two great nations of silk route arranges number of activities to celebrate our friendship.

Later, the artists of Hunan Art Ensemble, China and National
Art Group of Pakistan performed on the occasion and got big applause from the jam packed PNCA auditorium.

Pakistani dancers also performed with traditional Chinese music.

Chinese puppet show was also presented by the Chinese artists. A famous Urdu national song, was sung by members of the Hunan Art Ensemble China as an expression of goodwill and best wishes to the Pakistani people.

Hunan is one of the famous local opera hometown in China and has its own opera form Hua Gu Xi. The event was concluded by singing the world famous “Auld Lang Syne”, we want to pay tribute to the all weather friendship between Pakistani and Chinese people.
