ISLAMABAD, Jun 10 (APP): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said on Thursday the relief initiatives by the government amid the coronavirus pandemic, coupled with the increase in per capita income, did help mitigate the impact of inflation on the masses.
The minister, in a tweet, said the prices of food items had persistently spiked in the international market and Pakistan was no exception.

However, the rate of price hike in Pakistan was lower than the world, which along with increase in per capita income had considerably offset the impact of inflation.
“The major reason behind this achievement is successful containment of the coronavirus,” the minister added.
