ISLAMABAD, Jun 12 (APP): The Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) has initiated disciplinary action against M/s M-Tel Communications (Pvt.) Limited, following the dishonouring of three post-dated cheques issued by the company for the settlement of outstanding dues.
An amount of Rs 33,645,963 is outstanding against the said company which has given multiple opportunities to settle these dues, said a news release.
Despite being given a concession to submit post-dated cheques, M/s M-Tel has been failed to honour the payment of Rs 7,575,000 as promised. Consequently, PEMRA has submitted an application at the concerned police station under Section 33(3) of the PEMRA Ordinance 2002, as amended by the PEMRA (Amendment) Act 2023, seeking the registration of an FIR against the company.
PEMRA warns all its licensees to ensure timely payment of their dues, failing which strict action will be taken under PEMRA laws.
