ISLAMABAD, Jan 16 (APP):The Pakistan Engineering Council (PEC) and China Energy International Group Company Limited – Pakistan Branch (CEEC) signed a high-impact Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) at Energy China Office, Islamabad, marking a decisive breakthrough in international engineering cooperation and global workforce integration.
Under this MoU, PEC-registered Pakistani engineers will be formally inducted into Energy China’s mega infrastructure, power, renewable energy, hydro power, transmission, transport and investment projects across Southeast Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe, creating direct global employment and skills transfer pathways for Pakistan’s engineering workforce.
Energy China’s Managing Director, Mr Wang Hui Hua, highlighted CEEC’s unmatched global footprint with 140,000 professionals operating in 147 countries, and declared strong commitment to sourcing Pakistani engineers, partnering with local contractors, and embedding corporate social responsibility into China’s investments in Pakistan.
Chairman PEC, Engr Waseem Nazir, termed the MoU a paradigm shift for Pakistan’s engineering sector, announcing the establishment of a China Desk at PEC to ensure sustained engagement, structured placements, and capacity-driven collaboration with Chinese state-owned enterprises. He emphasized that 2026 will be remembered as the year Pakistan’s engineers moved from domestic markets to global engineering leadership.
This MoU positions Pakistan as a strategic engineering talent hub for the world’s largest infrastructure developer and opens a new era of high-value, technology-driven, and globally integrated engineering careers for Pakistani professionals.
