PDMA dispatches 6,000 relief goods, edibles items to Malakand division

PESHAWAR, Oct 27 (APP): Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA)
Tuesday dispatched 4,000 blankets and mates and some 2,000 tents and edible items to quake affected Malakand division of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa through helicopters.
Director General PDMA Amir Afaq visited affected areas of Malakand
division and Chitral and monitored relief operation and the access the damages caused by the Tuesday’s devastating earthquake.He said that seven teams have been sent to Chitral, Shangla, Swat, Bunner, Lower and Upper Dir, and Malakand districts to monitor the relief operations as well as access the damages.
He informed that according to latest figure available with PDMA the
death toll has reached at 202 with 1486 injured and 3,952 completely damaged houses, addging the control rooms of PDMA in various districts are still receiving latest update about the deaths, injured and damages.
He said that all Deputy Commissioner have been directed to utilize funds
from PDMA relief funds for assistance and relief of the affected people.
The DG said that district administrations are distributing relief goods
among the affected people in Chitral, Shangal, Chitral, Swat, Bunner, Lower and Upper Dir, Malakand and Torghar areas.
