Passion, awareness developed in nation about new dams: CJP

KARACHI, Oct 26 (APP):Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Mian Saqib Nisar has said his successful efforts have developed
passion and awareness in the entire nation about the construction of new dams.
Talking to APP on the issue of dams at the Supreme Court’s
Karachi Registry on Friday, he said the whole nation has become the part
of this cause, and the people would themselves build dams and protect
them too.
The CJP said due to climate change and lack of rains, water
resources are depleting in the country, therefore, there is need to
avoid wastage of water. Justice Nisar stressed that the construction
of new water reservoirs is the need of the time.
Earlier, the delegations of the people belonging to different
walks of life called on the CJP and presented cheques for the
construction of dams.
Jinnah Post-graduate Medical Centre (JPMC) Executive Director
Dr. Seemi Jamali and Dr. Yahya on behalf the hospital employees
presented a cheque of Rs. 53,50,000. While, Karachi Club’s President
Hanif Lakhani and Secretary Yousuf Suleman handed Rs. 50,00,000, and
Bahria Town’s residents gave Rs 11,00,000 through Qamar Shaheen and
Muhammad Owais and a cheque of Rs. 100,000 was presented by students
and teachers of City School.
