Pakistan’s foreign missions mark Kashmir Black Day highlighting Indian oppression in IIOJK

ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP): Pakistan’s missions abroad on Wednesday observed the Kashmir Black Day to condemn the 74 years of Indian illegal occupation of parts of Jammu and Kashmir, and to reaffirm Pakistan’s unwavering support for the just struggle of the Kashmiri people.
The High Commissions, embassies and consulates in different countries organized a range of activities to raise global awareness about the Jammu and Kashmir dispute and to reaffirm solidarity with the Kashmiri people.
Pakistan’s High Commission in Australia marked the Kashmir Black Day by organizing a seminar titled “Taking Stock of Human Rights situation in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK)”.

The key speakers of the seminar included former President of Azad State of Jammu and Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan, Chairman of the Senate’s Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, Australian Senator Janet Rice, Member of the Legislative Council of New South Wales David Shoebridge, former Australian Senator and human rights activist, Lee Rhiannon and High Commissioner for Pakistan Zahid Hafeez Chaudhri.
The speakers highlighted the grave human rights situation in IIOJK, especially in the wake of India’s illegal and unilateral actions of 5 August 2019. They underscored the urgent need for resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions and wishes of the Kashmir people.

High Commissioner Zahid Hafeez also delivered a keynote address at an event organized by the Pakistan Consulate General in Melbourne, which was attended by prominent members of Pakistani community.

Today, Pakistan Embassy Nepal observed #KashmirBlackDay by organizing a talk program with participation of🇳🇵 prominent politicians, analysts, scholars and eminent journalists in the Embassy. Charge d`Affaires of Pakistan to Nepal Mr. Adnan Javed Khan recalled the genesis of the long-festering dispute of #IIOJK and highlighted illegal actions, violation of human rights & non implementation of numerous UNSC resolutions.
Participants expressed serious concerns on the media / information blockade, use of pellet guns, arrest of Kashmiri leadership and other inhuman actions of Indian government which have been well documented in UN High Commissioner on Human Rights reports.
