ISLAMABAD, Feb 05 (APP): The diplomatic missions of Pakistan across the world on Wednesday observed the ‘Kashmir Solidarity Day’, reiterating the country’s resolve to stand with the Kashmiri people in their just struggle for the realization of their right to self-determination.
The Pakistani missions held an array of activities in connection with the Day including seminars, webinars, photo exhibitions and others.
The events were attended by Pakistan’s diplomats, expatriates, the notables from host communities and members of the diplomatic corps who were apprised of the struggle of the Kashmiri people and unabated Indian atrocities besides emphasizing a just solution based on the the UN Security Council resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
At the events, the heads of the diplomatic missions read out the special messages of President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, and the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar highlighting Pakistan’s unwavering moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmir cause.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Paris, France organized a special event marking the Kashmir Solidarity Day. The event was attended by a cross-section of Pakistani diaspora in France, overseas Kashmiris, academics, and journalists who expressed support for the seven decades long struggle of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination.
Speaking on the occasion, Ambassador Mumtaz Zahra Baloch voiced strong support for the Kashmiri people in their just struggle against Indian occupation and oppression. She rebuffed India’s efforts to tarnish the image of the Kashmiri freedom movement, terming the movement as peaceful and legitimate and based on the UNSC resolutions.
The Embassy of Pakistan, Abu Dhabi organized an event at its premises to mark the Kashmir Solidarity Day. A number of Pakistani and Kashmiri community members based in the UAE attended the event.
In his remarks, Ambassador Faisal Niaz Tirmizi paid tribute to the valiant people of the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOKK) and lauded their more than seven decades-long efforts for the realization of the right to self-determination.
The High Commission of Pakistan in New Zealand to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, inline with national inspirations and spirit. Reiterating Pakistan’s firm commitment to seeking a just resolution of Jammu and Kashmir dispute, it was conveyed that Pakistan would continue to lend unstinted moral, diplomatic and political support to the Kashmiri brothers and sisters till realization of their right to self-determination in accordance with the relevant UNSC resolutions.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Jordan hosted a powerful seminar to observe Kashmir Solidarity Day, reaffirming its unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The event brought together Jordanian notables, prominent social activists, scholars, media persons and members of Pakistani community to raise awareness about the ongoing struggle for the right to self-determination.
Speakers highlighted the history, challenges, and aspirations of the Kashmiri people, underscoring the need for a peaceful resolution to the Kashmir issue in line with UN resolutions.
The Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed at Pakistan Embassy in Moscow. Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Jamali, embassy staff and community attended the event.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Switzerland observed the Kashmir Solidarity Day and Kashmiri community living in Switzerland attended the event to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir and supported their just cause.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Lebanon held a webinar to mark Kashmir Solidarity Day. Panelists including journalists and think tanks from Pakistan and Lebanon shed light on Kashmir issue, Indian atrocities against innocent Kashmiris and Indian illegal actions to consolidate the occupation of IIOJK.
The Embassy of Pakistan in Malaysia also held a Kashmir Solidarity Day event presided over by Chairman MAPIM Cikgu Azmi Abdul Hamid (Sitara-e-Pakistan) who delivered a keynote address. Dr. Abdul Latif (Head of Research at IAIS) and Dr. Jamaluddin Shamsuddin (CEO ACCIN) also addressed the gathering. A large number of civil society and human rights organisations and members of Pakistani community expressed solidarity with the oppressed people of IIOJK and condemned gross human rights violations.
Ambassador of Pakistan to Japan, Raza Bashir Tarar addressed members of Japanese and Pakistani communities on Kashmir Solidarity Day. A photo exhibition was also organized on the occasion. The Ambassador also read the messages of President of Pakistan, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Deputy Prime Minister of Pakistan expressing solidarity with Kashmiris and highlighting Indian atrocities.
The Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed at the Pakistan Embassy in Bahrain.
During Kashmir Solidarity Day event at Pakistan Embassy in Vietnam, Ambassador Kohdayar Marri highlighted the plight of the Kashmiri people and reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to support the just struggle of the Kashmiri people for their inalienable right to self-determination. One minute silence was also observed to pay homage to the uncountable sacrifices by the Kashmiri people for their liberation.
At the Kashmir Day event at the Consulate General of Pakistan in Dubai, Hussain Muhammad, Consul General emphasized that India continues to deny the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) their fundamental right to self-determination, freedom and dignity, in violation of international law and humanitarian principles.
He further stated that lasting peace in South Asia hinges upon a just resolution of the Kashmir dispute and called upon the international community to press India to grant Kashmiris their inalienable right to decide their own future.
At an event held by Pakistan High Commission in Kampala, the high commissioner condemned Indian atrocities, urging the international community for intervention for the peaceful resolution of the issue according to the wishes of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
The envoy also reaffirmed that Kashmir remains central to Pakistan, emphasizing that peace in the South Asia cannot be attained without the just resolution of the issue of Jammu & Kashmir
The Kashmir Day event in Ankara was attended by Former Turkish deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdag, former Turkish Minister for Agriculture Mehmet Mehdi Eker, former Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, currently DG SESRIC Ms. Zehra Zumrut, Member Parliament Burhan Kayaturk, and Member Parliament Mustafa Kaya.
While reiterating Turkish support for Kashmiri legitimate cause of self-determination, Former Turkish deputy Prime Minister Recep Akdag stated that Turkiye has always supported peaceful resolution of Kashmir dispute as per the desire of the Kashmiri people and will continue to do so.
In his concluding remarks, Ambassador Dr. Yousaf Junaid explained the genesis of the Kashmir dispute, current status and alluded to atrocities and genocidal actions committed by India in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir, which had stepped up ever since 05 August 2019 illegal act of the Indian government.
At a Kashmir Day event in Tehran, Ambassador of Pakistan Muhammad Mudassir Tipu, highlighted that Pakistan celebrates the Kashmir solidarity day every year to support the just struggle of Kashmiri brothers. While comparing the Kashmiri struggle with Middle East situation, he added that the timely and justly solving such situations help mitigate the conflicts.
The Ambassador reiterated Pakistan’s call to the world leaders, international community including the United Nations, and all human rights organizations to urge India to halt the brute use of force against the innocent Kashmiri people and resolve the Kashmir Dispute as per the charter of the United Nations and various UNSC Resolutions and aspirations of the people.
A photo exhibition was also arranged by the Embassy to highlight the atrocities of Indian Army.
The Kashmir Solidarity Day was also observed at Pakistan High Commission in Ottawa and its three Consulates in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal. A series of activities were arranged including pictorial exhibitions, documentary screening and media interactions to highlight the human rights violations in the Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and to express solidarity with Kashmiris facing the worst kind of oppression under illegal Indian occupation.
A special event was held at the High Commission attended by members of the Pakistani and Kashmiri diaspora, media, academics, and human rights activists. Various documentaries on Kashmiris’ struggle were screened and broadcast on the social and local electronic media.
High Commissioner of Pakistan Muhammad Saleem highlighted the Indian brazenness subjecting the defenceless Kashmiris to endless atrocities. He also reiterated that international human rights organizations, the media as well as UN human rights mechanisms, have been unanimous in their condemnation of India’s illegal and inhuman actions IIOJK.
He underscored that IIOJK was the most militarised region in the world. He called upon the international community to stop India of massive violations of human rights in IIOJK, rescind the unilateral and illegal measures and implement the United Nations’ 13 Resolutions.
In Cairo, the Pakistan embassy organized a seminar titled “A Tribute to Kashmiris’ Just Struggle for Self-Determination” on Kashmir Solidarity Day today.
A documentary highlighting the plight of the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJ&K), Indian security forces brutalities and pledges of international community towards realization of Kashmiris’ inalienable right to self-determination was played. A minute of silence was observed for the martyrs of IIOJ&K and Gaza as well.
The panellists in their separate, but equally impactful presentations expressed solidarity with the innocent people of IIOJ&K who have been subjected to Indian state oppression for decades.
The guest speakers noted with grave concern India’s unilateral and illegal actions of 5 August 2019, which revoked the special status of the occupied territory. They criticized India’s action to change the demography of IIOJ&K and attempts to turn Kashmiris into minority in their own land.
Charge d’ Affaires Dr. Raza Shahid in his remarks said that durable peace in South Asia cannot be achieved without the peaceful resolution of Jammu & Kashmir dispute. He reiterated Pakistan’s unflinching moral, diplomatic and political support to the people of IIOJ&K for their rightful cause of self determination.
