Pakistan wants to defuse Saudia Arabia-Iran tension: Irfan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 6 (APP): Advisor to Prime Minister on National History and Literary Heritage Irfan Siddiqui on Wednesday said the defusing tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia was Pakistan’s top priority.

“We enjoy brotherly and cordial relations with Saudi Arabia due to Harmain Sharifain. Both the countries have signed several agreements for cooperation in defence and other sectors,” he said while talking to a news channel.

Similarly, he said, Pakistan and Iran had friendly and historical relations.

Irfan Siddiqui said, “We want peaceful Pakistan and the entire region. Due to the prudent polices of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, Pakistan is enjoying good ties with its neighboring countries including India and Afghanistan as compared to past.”

Replying to a question, he said the government was effectively working for the promotion and improvement of health, education, and other sectors.

The government has launched various projects to overcome power crisis to meet the country’s energy shortage, he added.

Replying to another question, he said Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) government was working for the welfare of the masses.
