ISLAMABAD, Feb 04 (APP): Pakistan on Wednesday reiterated its unwavering support for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, calling their struggle for freedom, dignity and fundamental rights “just and legitimate.”
In a message issued on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day, Federal Minister for Law & Justice and Human Rights Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar said the Kashmiri people have endured decades of oppression and injustice, yet continue to show resilience and determination.
“The people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) continue to face systemic repression, denial of fundamental rights and widespread human rights violations,” the minister said, adding that Pakistan remains committed to raising the issue at all international forums.
Senator Tarar emphasized that the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people is a fundamental principle recognized by the United Nations and the international community, and cannot be compromised.
“No oppression can extinguish the legitimate aspirations of a people seeking freedom,” he stated, urging the global community to take a principled stand, uphold justice and work toward ending the suffering of innocent Kashmiris.
Paying tribute to the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people, the minister reaffirmed that Pakistan would continue to stand with them “today, tomorrow and always” until their voices are heard, their rights restored and justice prevails.
