ISLAMABAD, Jan 25 (APP):President Asif Ali Zardari said that Pakistan valued its friendly and constructive relations with Australia, grounded in mutual respect, shared democratic values and a long-standing record of cooperation across diverse fields.
“Our partnership continues to evolve through regular political dialogue, growing trade and investment links, educational collaboration, parliamentary exchanges, and strong people-to-people ties,” the president said in his message on Sunday on the National Day of Australia being celebrated on Monday, 26 January.
On the occasion of the National Day of the Commonwealth of Australia, the president extended his warm felicitations to Ms Sam Mostyn, Governor-General of Australia, and to the people of Australia.
“I am confident that enhanced leadership-level engagement and sustained institutional cooperation will further deepen mutual understanding and expand collaboration in priority areas including trade, investment, agriculture, education, climate resilience, innovation, and regional and global issues of shared interest. Pakistan looks forward to working closely with Australia to advance our common objectives for peace, stability, and shared prosperity,” President Secretariat Media Wing, in a press release, quoted the president as saying.
