Pakistan, Tajikistan to enhance linkages in TVET sector

ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP): Pakistan and Tajikistan share strong
friendly and cultural ties and there is a dire need to enhance the linkages in Technical Vocational Education and Training (TVET) sector.
This was expressed by the Ambassador of Tajikistan, Jononov
Sherali and Executive Director NAVTTC, Zulfiqar Ahmad Cheema during
a meeting held here on Friday.
The ambassador congratulated the Executive Director for holding a successful International TVET Conference and stated that they would get benefit through learning from the experiences and quality of vocational training standards of Pakistan.
Pakistan has made notable economic progress in the past three
years and it has the potential to stand amongst the top economies of the world, he stated.
Moreover, China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) would open
a new page in the history and the whole region would benefit from it, he added.
Sherali commended the recent initiative taken up by NAVTTC including organizing skill competitions in the most demand driven trades across the country.
He assured to explore the tremendous opportunities offered by the skill sector together and provide technical assistance to boost the TVET sector of Pakistan.
Zulfiqar Cheema briefed the Ambassador on the milestone achieved by NAVTTC in bringing a paradigm shift in TVET delivery in Pakistan.
Youth has the power to lead the country on the path of socio
economic development, job markets all over the world are looking to hire qualified workers so there is an urgent need to explore this demographic dividend for the benefit of the nation, he said.
Under the new Competency Based Training system, all the courses are designed and delivered by following a systematic approach, Cheema said.
He emphasized that both the countries would benefit from learning through each other’s successful experiences in this sector.
