Pakistan shares its perspective on security at Istanbul conference

ISLAMABAD, Nov 7 (APP): Chaudhry Jafar Iqbal, Federal Parliamentary Secretary for Defence, has shared Pakistan’s experience in responding to security challenges and evolving a national approach to security.
Chaudhry Jaffar Iqbal represented Pakistan in “Istanbul Security Conference 2016,” organized by Turkish Asian Center for Strategic Studies (TASAM) in co-operation with National Defence and Security Institute (MSGE), said a message received here.
A large number of delegations from Turkey and abroad from defence and security circles, think-tanks and civil society attended the conference. Themed “Changing Nature of State: Borders of Security,” the conference was held in Istanbul from November 2-4.
Delivering a speech at the inaugural session of the conference, Jafar Iqbal spoke about changing regional security environment and border management.
He said Pakistan was fighting a decisive war against terrorism. He highlighted that despite suffering enormous human and economic losses, Pakistani society had maintained its resilience.
He informed about the National Action Plan, which was evolved with consensus of all the political parties. He said the ongoing successful military operation Zarb-e-Azb against militancy had achieved tremendous success.
Jafar Iqbal also briefed the conference about brutalities in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir perpetrated by Indian security forces. He said the world should take notice of human rights violations of innocent Kashmiris.
He also referred to continuous violations of the cease-fire by India on the Line of Control and Working Boundary.

Air Commodore Abbas Ghuman, met Minister for Economy of Afghanistan Abdul Sattar Murad, as well as Chairman of TASAM Sleyman SENSOY and discussed matters of mutual interest.
