Pakistan sends 100-ton relief to flood hit Nepal
ISLAMABAD, Sep 06 (APP):Pakistan on Sunday dispatched a 100 ton consignment of humanitarian assistance to flood affected Nepal on the directions of the Prime Minister, with a chartered cargo flight carrying family tents, blankets, mats, hygiene kits and essential medicines departing from Islamabad International Airport for Kathmandu to provide vital relief to people impacted by the floods.
The humanitarian assistance, coordinated by the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), is intended to extend timely support to the flood affected population of Nepal and alleviate the hardships confronting communities in the aftermath of the disaster.
A send off ceremony was held at Islamabad International Airport, graced by Federal Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhary and Chairman NDMA Lt Gen Inam Haider Malik, alongside the Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan and senior officials from the NDMA and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Senior representatives of renowned humanitarian organisations of Pakistan also attended the ceremony.
The dispatch of relief supplies reflects the unwavering solidarity of the Government and people of Pakistan with the brotherly people of Nepal and underscores Pakistan’s commitment to extending a helping hand to those facing adversity and humanitarian distress.
